Burning love – Stempek enjoys helping community as realtor, volunteer fireman and more

As a longtime member of the Duncan Volunteer Fire Department, kwELITE Realtor Trent Stempek has seen just about everything.

“We’ve been on rescue calls, motorcycle, ATV and vehicle accidents, drownings, fires – you just never know what you’re going to get for a call,” Stempek said. “But everybody pulls together and is there for each other in a time of need. I’m honored to be part of the Duncan fire department.”

A Duncan native, Stempek graduated from Columbus High School. He moved to Lincoln for college, but he and his family found their way back home to Platte County because, as he puts it, “it’s a great place to live and raise a family.”

“We love it here,” he said. “I love knowing the community, and everyone works so well together. Everybody knows everybody around here. I love small towns – the people are great.”

Excited to move back to the area in 2004 to be active in a smaller community with events such as the Duncan Ribfest (a fundraiser for the Duncan Wrestling Club and the Duncan Fire Department) the last weekend in June annually that features loads of barbecue, live music and fun. He’s also active with his parish, St. Stanislaus in Duncan, where they have pancake feeds, hayrack rides, family days and potluck dinners.

When he gets a spare moment, Stempek also enjoys spending time on the local ballfield.

“Duncan has an amazing ballfield with that awesome small-town feel,” he said. “I used to play baseball there, and my kids do or have. My daughter also runs the concession stand.”

Stempek’s knowledge of the area has helped him in his 22-year career in real estate, something he calls extremely rewarding.

“I definitely enjoy seeing people’s happiness when you find them the home of their dreams and help them get through the process step by step,” he said.

He joined the kwELITE team a few years ago and stressed there is nothing quite like it.

“Everybody is amazing and positive, the continuous training and education, the programs, they’re all great,” he said. “Everybody here is willing to go above and beyond to make sure you’re successful. The realtors – we’re all competition, but we’re all here for each other and want to make sure we all succeed. I love it.”
