Parkway Plaza eager to host free Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 27th

Forget going door-to-door for candy this Halloween, as Parkway Plaza is gearing up for its free and third annual Trunk-or-Treat extravaganza, set to run from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27th.

Taking place outside the “we-hub workplace” at 4471 41st Ave. in Columbus, children and families will be able to safely roam the parking lot and collect goodies from the dozens of participating trunks.

The event is being presented by kwELITE Real Estate and Aksarben Mortgage, with additional support from Charter Title & Escrow, Aksarben Insurance, Applied Connective Technologies and Alpha Media.

“We are excited to once again offer our community a chance to have a fun and safe environment to trick-or-treat,” Parkway Plaza Marketing Director Matt Lindberg said. “We always enjoy seeing the kids’ joyful faces, and this is just one of the ways we try our best to give back to the community we love.”

But collecting candy and showing off their costumes will only be part of the fun. The Parkway Plaza Trunk-or-Treat will also feature appearances by the Columbus Fire Department, which will bring out one of its trucks and have firefighters handing out goodies. The Horn T Zoo out of nearby Monroe will be on hand and have some animals for attendees to interact with outside.

Superhero fanatics should also keep their eyes open. ‘The Columbus Bat,’ a local artist who dresses up as Batman in a high-grade replica suit, will be at one trunk to meet with kids, take pictures and hand out candy.

“Columbus is a great community, so this is our way of providing some fun entertainment for kids and families of all ages,” Lindberg said. “The businesses at Parkway Plaza are local and care about the community, so we hope to see a lot of smiling faces on Oct. 27th.”
