Staging your home – Red Door Designs joins Parkway Plaza, eager to help people with their homes

Sharyle Sands believes she has what it takes to help realtors and clients sell their homes quicker.

Sands recently retired as vice president of the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce after approximately 20 years in the role and has now gone full-time with Red Door Designs, her interior-decorating business. 

“It was a dream of mine as a little girl to have something of my own – to be a designer. I was always rearranging my mom’s house,” Sands recalled. “I just felt it was time, and if I was going to make the move, it was the ideal time as my son recently graduated from high school.”

Sands had known when she was ready to jump into Red Door Designs full-time that she wanted to be in an environment that surrounded herself with high-energy individuals. Having been friends with kwELITE Real Estate Broker/Owner Renee Mueller for quite some time, Sands’ Red Door Designs is now the latest business to join the mix at the Parkway Plaza business complex at 4471 41st Ave. in Columbus (following kwELITE, Aksarben Mortgage, Aksarben Insurance, Charter Title and Escrow, Big Apple Bagels, VRLY Columbus, Applied Connective Technologies, All Makes and Premier Property Management). 

“The people here are really nice. I love being around people,” said Sands, who worked with Mueller and handled some of the interior design for Parkway Plaza. “I love being part of something bigger.”

Sands works with clients all over, but is hoping to help kwELITE Real Estate and its clients with the home-selling process when it comes to preparing a property for market so it appeals to the most potential buyers who will pay the highest-possible price.

“If I can make a potential buyer feel an emotional attachment to that house, that they can see themselves pouring a glass of wine, doing some gardening, sitting down and enjoying a book in a unique nook, I think the house will sell faster,” Sands stressed, adding having a home properly staged can make a big difference when it comes to virtual tours, footage taken by a drone pilot and other digital marketing efforts done by kwELITE Real Estate.

“Your home is a huge investment – so I can help people realize they need to declutter, what pieces of furniture need to go, make sure it has a nice flow and it shows their home in the best possible light so it’s ready to go on the market.”
